The Casa Chica project was an interdisciplinary effort of a team of 14 composed of 10 construction science students, and 4 environmental design students. The project was overseen by professors of each representative field. Over the course of 15 weeks we worked together to plan, budget, design, construct and deliver a Tiny house to Community First! Village.

The Community is part of an Austin based non-profit, called Mobile Loaves &Fishes, a 27-acre master-planned community that will provide housing and a supportive community for the chronically homeless in Central Texas. The project objective was to create a comfortable home with a sleeping space and storage for its resident.

Through the course of 4 weeks the 4 architecture students developed and refined a modular design for the Tiny House keeping the $8,000 budget in mind. I created the 3D Model, spacial planning, helped put together the construction documents and contributed to the construction.

Over the course of 10 weeks the team constructed the framing, mounted the walls, did the electrical wiring and put the finishing touches on the tiny house. The project design was modified as needed through out the construction. Collectively a total of 1276 hours were put into construction.
